关于zombie这首歌的创作过程，小红莓主唱Delores曾说，“Zombie是写在爱尔兰与英国冲突期间，两个小孩子被炸弹炸死的故事”。这首歌虽然并不是关于北爱尔兰的政治问题，但的确是一首控诉战争的燃烧之作。这首歌的歌词直指人心，精彩的MTV也说明了一切。在911事件发生后，美国很多电视台都重放了这首歌，呼吁和平和反战。而我们中国的李宇春同学翻唱了这首歌。她面对观众们，以轻快活泼的节奏愉悦地描述着刽子手对儿童的屠杀以及暴徒对母亲的凌辱、高兴的用洪亮欢快的嗓音一遍又一遍唱着：Another mother's breakin' （又一位母亲被强暴）。当李宇春唱道高潮部分，台下的玉米疯狂的跳着，叫好着。小红莓的原唱朵丽斯每次演唱会唱zombie的时候，都是用一种低沉，愤怒，甚至带有一丝悲伤的的声音来唱的。赛后湖南台采访观众们，大家都说宇春太棒了把这首歌唱的这么棒，而原唱又干又涩特别难听。也许令爱尔兰人愤怒的是李宇春，而令我愤怒的是那些狗屁都不懂的玉米们。以及在场的所有又鼓掌又笑的主持、评委和观众们。
