Abstract: Land is a priceless resource that can not reproduce. As one of the coastal regions which boast booming economy, the city of Jiaxing in the province of Zhejiang places an extremely high premium on its land resources. It is no exaggeration to say that a square inch of land in Jiaxing is worth a cubic inch of gold. For the purpose of striking a balance between economic growth and the preservation of farmland, the municipal government of Jiaxing actively follows the guidelines of both development and conservation in order to utilize, regulate and restore its land as well as puts into effect the plan for land restructuring.
This article illustrates how the government of Jiaxing undertakes the task of land restrcturing. Next, based on the land restructuring and the analysis of current exploitations, the author puts forward the potentials of the urban land resources and a series of plans for further restructuring.
