Weather
Weather is the most common subject of conversation(常见的谈话主题). Before we go to work, we check out the weather on radio, though the weather report is not always correct.
The weather in Beijing changes with the four seasons. It is warm in spring, hot and humid(潮湿的) in summer, cool and sunny in autumn, cold and dry in winter.
People may have different outdoor, activities in different seasons. We go swimming in summer and go skating in winter. In spring and autumn, we go outings. It is also the best time for foreigners to visit our city.

Chinese Holidays and Festivals
We have many traditional festivals and national holidays in China, such as the Spring Festivals, the Dragon Boat Festivals, the Mid-autumn Festivals, etc. Our national holidays are the New Year, May Day, and our National Day, which falls on October 1st.
On holidays, we used to pay for visits to our relatives(亲戚) and friends, exchanging gifts(交换礼物) and having dinner together. Now we have more ways of celebration(庆祝). People choose to send the messages to greet(祝福) each other. People take coaches(长途车), drive cars, or go by air to remote(遥远的) places for sightseeing. Students would come to our bookstore to find their favorite books.
Travel
Travel has become popular worldwide. We can travel by bus, by train, by sea or by air. China is a tourist destination(游客的目的地) for the people from Europe, America as well as other Asian countries. People travel for pleasure, studies, trades and so on.
Beijing, the capital of China, has many places of interest to see. The Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Tian’anmen Square, the Forbidden City are all wonders(奇观) of Beijing. The Chinese are also interested in traveling abroads for sightseeing(观光), studies and work.
