tradeoff: An exchange of one thing in return for another, especially relinquishment of one benefit or advantage for another regarded as more desirable.
权衡得失,利弊之后所做的"取舍", 放弃某种利益以得到更想要的利益,所做的"换取". 一般的字典翻译为"交换, 交易", 我认为不够精确.
有人翻译为"权衡取舍", 意思接近了, 但还是比较含糊.

我个人喜欢"选舍", 它精炼准确, 突出了"为得到就放弃"的这一概念.
