We hereby inform you that we have received twelve cartons of video recorders shipped by the East Wind in accordance with our order No.319. However, we have also discovered that the contents in the cartons numbered 5 and 6 were seriously damaged. It is our belief that the damage stemmed from the thin cartons which failed to meet the packaging requirements set for exported goods. Enclosed herewith is an inspection report, which states that the abovementioned damage resulted from inadequate packaging. Please send us a check for one hundred US dollars to cover the expenses of notarial inspection. Besides, you are obliged to deliver to us two cartons of brand new video recorders. Upon receiving the requested goods, we will return the damaged recorders to you. It is sincerely hoped that you will take immediate action to deal with this matter.
