People living as the unit of individual, which could be the min factor of the society, affect other people strongly. Although they are small groups, we share the most of the time together. We all know people in their youth spend time with their families, which are their initial educations. In the atmospheres of the family, people learn their proud from their family noble, learn knowledge from their parents wisdom, and even learn their attitudes to certain affairs from their family members' behaviors. Moreover, with the interaction in the social communication, they step out their family to have several friends and some of their idols. Obviously all these elements could determine their future. For instance, Michael Jordan, admiring the Doctor. J in his youth finally moves in the track of basketball. And with the connections between the Engles, his best friend, Carl Marx could achieve the acme of his thoughts. Hence, a few individuals or small groups ultimately determine our thinking and behaviors.

But people are living in the society, and they become more social. No body could avoid the effects from the society. The mass media, no matter what the formations they are, such as traditional newspapers, TV and radio, or new ones based on internet, like BBS and Blog, now have the power to effect, even control the public thinking and attitudes. For instance, in the time of devotion, the leaders of different parties know the importance of the media, so they spend most of the budget to imbue in the television and newspapers and others to effect people's attitudes, which is effective. Furthermore, to some extent, people are likely to accept the thoughts, which are widely accepted by the society. I think in the time of Galileo, some people would appreciate his thoughts, but under the pressure of the society, they would deny his value, since they would suffer from this. So many illustrations could demonstrate the influence on us by the society.Thus, we should not deny their contributions.

The economy of a society can affect people mostly. In the era of bad economic situation, the atmosphere of the whole society is oppressive. The blue music is popular as well as no many colorful pictures. For instance, the painters of still life, in order to represent a broken spirit, prefer painting old wall, destoried buildings to beautiful flower and plenteous fruit. However, with the progressing and flourishing economy, the society is animated by delightful music and colorful drawings. People are optimal and enjoy all kinds of entertainments such as going out for a trip with their family or a earnest talking with their friends.

Different societies have their own culture which can influence on people’s behavior and attitudes. Each culture includes its special conventions and mortal viewpoints and as a result, people may show some conducts which other people out of the society may feel strange. There are lots of dissimial aspects between Eastern and Western socities. One good example is in China people often use chopsticks to eat food, while in Western society, forks and knifes are more popular to be used. Another example of the differences between Eastern and Western socities is when people meet with their friends, in eastern society, people will shake hands to show friendlship, whereas people in Western society may have a hug.

Despite their merits, they could not be dominant to define people's attitudes and behaviors. First, people could not always react accurately to all issues. But people are curious to know the facts, but in the circle of their living, they could not find the answers to satisfy them. Second, social effects miss the best time to shape people--their youth. People in their childhood always stay in their home to prepare for their adults life. To some extent, they are solitary, only receiving the influence from a few people and small groups. Thus, people are affected by both of these two sorts.

To sum up, influences from individuals or small groups or impacts from the contemporary society could not determine people solely. Only interacting well could they promote the find development of people.
