安妮萝莉 Annie Laurie

这是一首知名的苏格兰民谣，词曲皆优美得不得了，背景故事亦相当动人，这首歌是先有歌词，后有谱曲，歌词原来是一首情诗，写於1705年，至今刚好300年。安妮萝莉是一个女孩的名字，1705年时正值豆蔻年华，与一位多情的少年威廉道格拉斯（William Douglas）步入情网，热恋中的威廉就以安妮萝莉的名字写了一首情诗送给她，少男情怀表露无遗，原文与中文译词如下：

诗中的Maxwellton（麦斯威尔顿）是一座城堡的名字，是安妮萝莉的父亲建造的。1835年时，有一位女孩名叫爱莉西雅．安妮．史波提斯伍德（Alicia Anne Spottiswoode），她当时亦在热恋中，她发现了威廉道格拉斯写的这首情诗，诗中的女主角的名字竟然与她一样，就将它谱了曲，一首动人的歌曲就因此诞生了。爱莉西雅．安妮隔年嫁给她恋爱的对象约翰‧史考特（John Scott），后来就被称为约翰‧史考特夫人（Lady John Scott）。

麦斯威尔顿与安妮萝莉后来虽未结婚，「安妮萝莉」这首歌的词曲却因为前后二位热恋中的男女，创造出不朽的旋律，足见爱情力量之大。

PS. 另一种说法，歌词为艾伦．克林翰（Allen Cunningham）於1810年（或1820年）所作，但较无法考据。
