In universities, students always need to share their dormitory rooms with others. If I was told to share my dormitory room with another student, I would rather have the university assign a student. Although sharing the room with a stranger who has no blood relationship with you is not very easy for us, it still has many advantages.

Living with strangers gives us a chance to know new friends. You can go to college with each other, study with each other and have meat with each other in everyday's life. Living together gives you the best chance to understand your roommates. Many students finally have deep friendship with their roommates. I am waiting for that chance to know more friends of mine.

Moreover, we can learn from the strange roommates. Everyone has the advantages and disadvantages of himself. Similarly, people come from different places have their own habits. So, when sharing a dormitory room, we can learn the advantages of others, understand the different cumtoms from our own. Take myself as an example, I learnt many houseworks from my last roommate instead of my mother. Sometimes roommates are the teachers of ours.

Some students worry about that they could not get along well with their roommates because of their different habits and interests. Maybe we can think about this problem from another angle. I stated that if you could share rooms with other students no matter of their queer characteristics, you could get along well with any other persons in your future living, working and studying. Dormitory rooms like small societies.

Of course, it will make us more comfortable in the dormitory room with the familar roommate. But sharing the room with a strange mate still have many advantages, such as making more friends, learning different customs and so on.
