1 在wish后的虚拟语气宾语从句(可省略它的that)
2 主语从句常放在句尾而用 it 作形式主语使句子更加平衡，这时口语中常省略 that, 如上面第一句改成“It is evident (that) math... ... It happened that she had a cold and didn't go with us that day. It turned out that I was wrong.
3.that引导的宾语从句,一般可以省去that,但在下面情况中不能省略—— 1.在suggest, order等表示命令、请求、建议... ...引导宾语从句的that不能省略。 Tell him that if he is at home, I'll call to see him.
4.that可以用于表示时间、地点、方式、理由的名词后取代when, where, why和"介词+ which"引导的定语从句，在口语中that常被省略，例如：
His father died the year (that / when / in which) he was born. 他父亲在他出生那年逝世了。
He is unlikely to find the place (that / where / in which) he lived forty years ago. 他不大可能找到他四十年前居住过的地方。
that即可代表事物也可代表人，which代表事物；它们在从句中作主语或宾语，that在从句中作宾语时常可省略关系词，which在从句中作宾语则不能省略。而且，如果which在从句中作“不及物动词＋介词”的介词的宾语，注意介词不要丢掉，而且介词总是放在关系代词which的前边，但有的则放在它原来的位置
