4 NON BLONDES是一支三女一男的组合，因此乐队的直译〔四个非金发美女〕显然不好，因此非金发四人组好像成了约定俗称的中译名。乐队最突出的特点就是灵魂人物女主唱Linda Perry那爆发力十足的嗓音,倚仗这一优势，乐队硬核摇滚及朋客的音乐风格恰如其分的释放了他们火山爆发般的激情，也让他们成为了摇滚乐坛的皎皎者。然而由于乐队内部的原因，他们发行的第一张唱片也成了最后一张唱片，而这张唱片最出彩也是最叫座的就是这首《What's up》了。简洁明快的吉他扫弦逐渐带出了音乐激情的旋律，而主唱那狂野铿锵的粗哑含蓄的嗓音一出，音乐在气势上已经完全征服了听者，最令人叫绝的是女主唱娴熟流畅的唱功，将假声运用与爆发般的哑音结合得天衣无缝，不留痕迹，歌声在轻柔中停止，而听者被引至顶峰的激情却依然在无声的音乐中澎湃。
