1.so as to(1)使得, 以致.为了(2)如此...以致于
另外,so as to 只能放句中．
2．In order to 表示为了，一般可放在句中或句前，（所以4楼的讲错了！）
例如：In order to catch the train, she hurried through her work.
＝She hurried through her work in order to catch the train.
==She hurried through her work so as to catch the train.

除此之外

为了；目的在于…
She hurried through her work in order that she can catch the train.
>>of the order of
大约，左右；约与…相同，约与…相似 (= in the order of)

一般来说,not as...as与not so...as意思上是一样的，都是“与……不一样”但是前者语气略弱，后者语气略强。
但是在肯定句中只能用as...as不能用so...as。 例如：She is as tall as you are. 意思是她和你一样高。 这里就不能用so ...as了。

In order to 可以放在句首或者名中，
但是 so as to 只能用于名中，
他们的意思都是“为了……”

in order to 是"为了"的意思,后常接表示目的的短语,例如:in order to finish my homework.而so as to 和它的意思差不多,只是它只能够放在句子的后面.例如下面的例句:
1.In order to finished my homework,I gave up my leisure time.
1'I gave up my leisure time,in order to finished my homework.
2.I gave up my leisure time,so as to finished my homework.

in order to 一般都是放在句子的前面
而so as to 一般在放在句子的中间

in order to 一般都是放在句子的前面
而so as to 一般在放在句子的中间
意思是差不多的
