A brother’s Journey, written by Richard B. Pelzer is an astonishing book. No matter if you look from the way he sets the story or the way he told the story, it was perfect. The memories of mine told me that since the first time that I read the story, i couldn’t stop reading it. The story was irresistible. Since the book is a non-fiction, it was heartbreaking. The horror in this world was beyond my imagination. A childhood of abuse is something that not everyone had experienced. I personally would recommend this book to probably everyone that I know because I think it is meaningful to read the story, People like me never appreciated their lives (not even once). I never thought that I was lucky to have a loving family where people actually care about whether I’m hungry or not or whether I’m happy or not. I just thought if Richard ever had a family like mine, then this tragedy probably never would take its place. I think the more people read this book, the less chance that child abuse would take the place, I just wanted to do as much as I can myself to stop the child abusing around me. The book is inspiring many people; it also acts as a warning to the society. There are things that had to be stopped. Acting like a mirror of everyone’s life, A Brother’s Journey reflects and brings out the significance of everyone’s life. The book evokes people because as the story goes, it really reminds people and warns them to treasure whatever they have right now. The book delivers messages such as “don’t look at the past”; “don’t live in the past”; ‘live in the present for your future’. People should rather love each and become friends instead of hating each other and become foes. After all, life is too short. I learned to spend my life as efficient as I can for my own good.
