I am taking a course in Describing and Analysing Language, this is a question asked about language variation, The full version of the question is:

Go to http://www.americanaccent.com it's a dense and complex website on how people speak and what kinds of problems that could give. The website is a goldmine of indexicalities. So:

1. What particular forms of 'accent' are negatively qualified?

2. Which ones are positively qualified?

3. Describe in detail the micro-indexicalities and macro-indexicalities that are being invoked here.

4. There is an implicit image of 'the normal (sociolinguistic) world there, try to describe it. It's a world in which 'normal' people speak 'normally' and behave 'normally' -- a particular image of America.

I am quite confused about some terms here, that's why I need someone to enlighten me on the first question, so I might can continue with the others.

So,can anyone help me out?

哦呦,语言学我也学过,头最痛来,你还是自己慢慢做吧,Good luck! That's all that I can help you.
