应改为Both of the students wanted to pick them up.原因:pick...up是一个典型的"动词+副词"的动词短语,类似这样的短语,当它们之间出现代词时,即it或them,应放在中间而不应放在最后,即"pick it up',但当出现名词时,则放在中间或最后均可.
另外还有一类动词短语是‘动词+介词’类似‘look for’当它们之间出现代词时，应为‘look for it’这个词组是不能够分开的
不应用both of 吧？pick up的用法错误

BOTH 是指2人之间，而students是复数，2人以上了所以不能用both, 还有就是PICK THEM UP
